The Long Haul
My son shared the following from a book he is reading. He's promised to send me a copy.
From Jesus and the Prophets I had learned about the importance of loving people, the importance of being a revolutionary, standing up and saying that this system is unjust. Jesus to me was a person who had the vision to project a society in which people would be equally respected, in which property would be shared. He was a person who said you have to love your enemies, you have to love the people who despise you. To make life worth living you have to believe in those things that will bring about justice in society, and be willing to die for them....something worth struggling for is worth dying for. --Myles Horton, The Long Haul
